Clear Correct Q & A

How Are the Clear Correct Aligners Made?

The dentist will create an impression of your mouth, and will then send that to the lab that creates the Clear Correct custom aligners. The aligners will then be manufactured according to the specific measurements of your mouth.

Are the Aligners Worn Around the Clock?

Clear Correct aligners should be worn for approximately 22 hours a day. You can remove the aligners to brush your teeth, floss your teeth, and eat and drink. Eating or drinking with your aligners in can cause warping or cracking. Be sure to carry your Clear Correct aligner case with you at all times so they can be removed when necessary.

Will Your Insurance Cover Clear Correct?

Because Clear Correct is classified as an orthodontic appliance, it may be covered by your dental insurance.

When Do You Change Out The Aligners?

Approximately every two weeks, you will exchange your current Clear Correct aligners for a new set of aligners. This will allow the aligners to gradually move the teeth into the correct position.

How Long Will Your Clear Correct Treatment Last?

The timeline is different for each patient. Some people need only minimal correction and use the Clear Correct for a couple of months. Others may wear Clear Correct for up to two years, especially if significant movement needs to take place. On average, most people wear Clear Correct for at least nine months to one year.

After Clear Correct, Will You Need a Retainer?

This depends on the patient, but in many cases, the dentist will prescribe a retainer to help maintain the results achieved by the Clear Correct aligners. The Clear Correct company also produces invisible retainers, so you can avoid the metal retainers entirely if you wish.

Can Clear Correct Fix Major Alignment Problems?

In general, Clear Correct is best suited for mild to moderate teeth alignment issues. Severe misalignment is the type of dental issue that may require more intricate orthodontic procedures.
